Amorita
Amorita focuses on my mother's Chronic Stress, diagnosed a few years ago. Her mental state has not only affected my health but has caused change in our mother-daughter relationship.
My mom has been dealing with stress disorder ever since she got divorced from my father. She has never healed completely. Instead over time, anxiety and depression became a part of her mental health.
Originally from Bolivia we moved to Houston to complete my education while my mother supported me financially. Due to economic difficulties and a second failed marriage, my mother returned to Bolivia. I started experiencing depression and anxiety later that year not only as a result of constant economic problems but also dealing with the absence of my mother.
In January 2016, she returned to live with me. Our mutual condition makes our lives both easy and difficult to relate with one another. It is not easy to take care of someone when you yourself aren't totally stable, but at this moment I feel it is my responsibility to change my role as a daughter and be the one who protects and takes care of her.
