Mujeres Malas is the artistic partnership of Natalia Barrientos and Jessica Carolina González. Utilizing Mujeres Malas as a transformative space, they channel their collective rage to create works of various media sin culpa y sin miedo (without guilt, without fear).
Mujeres Malas is a riot dimension where we create our own social norms. We are angry, aggravated and pissed off!
Living in a world where white supremacy, poverty, exploitation, and violence exist, we have no choice but to feel enraged. We will make whatever we please with our anger. Collective fury ignites disorder, it sparks revolutions.
Our indignation exists in this alternate dimension without censorship, and we use it to fuel our creativity. If we’re upset, you will know it. We will no longer apologize for our wrath. We are done with being polite.
We are Malas.
Cosechada en Tierra Santa, Consumida por la Plaga… Eres mi Fruta Favorita
To be Latinx is to be in constant combat. We fight against the hierarchies that exclude us and the ones built within us. Just like fruit, we bear the violent histories of dehumanizing labor and exploitation that continue to nurture the oppressor. The exportation of our fruits, like the battle, is eternal.
La sobrevivencia de la fruta siempre será amenazada por la plaga
